Earlier this week I walked around Westmont praying for all of the new & returning students…praying they would transition into the new year, let God guide their lives, & live for Jesus each & every day.
Dearest Tapestry Community,
As we enter the season of Lent, we have been praying about how we can spend this time as a community, reflecting together, and seeking Christ. We have a few opportunities for you to join in this journey and conversation:
1) Read our daily blog meditation. We will be posting a prayer, scripture, meditation, or thought, each day this Lent season. Join us at http://www.tapestrysb.com or http://www.facebook.com/elmotapestry
2) Interact though Instagram! Why not use this popular social media platform to join together as we pursue Christ? We are joining with The United Methodist Church who put together the attached “Lent Photo a Day.” Post your photo each day to your instagram, and maybe also our facebook page! Use the following hashtag 🙂 #tapestrylent
3) Tapestry on Sundays will continue at 5pm, followed by the always delicious dinner 🙂 We will have a postcard for you to take home each week with a scripture, prayer or meditation.
We pray you will join us in this season of putting aside our individual, selfish, desires, and putting our Lord and Savior first in our hearts, thoughts, words, and actions.
Blessings & Love to you all!

a few weeks ago we had an Oktoberfest celebration complete with music, rootbeer tasting, and yummy food. if you missed it, keep your eyes out this week on the blog for details for this Sunday’s Harvest Festival!
thanks to Angus Maclaurin for these photos 🙂
Thank you to 26 families in our church who have “adopted” a total of 38 Westmont students! We pray this will be an excellent opportunity for the families, the students, and the church as a whole to build relationships and build community. Our primary purpose of this ministry is for our church to love and pray for these students as they journey through this school year. We have students who have just moved away from home for the first time as freshmen, seniors who will graduate soon and are looking ahead to what is next, and everyone in between. Families who have “adopted” students have been asked to participate in a few specific ways including the following: 1) to invite their students over for two dinners a semester, 2) to send them a bit of encouragement during midterms and finals weeks (in the form of notes, scripture passages, and perhaps some study treats), 3) to find out what their students are involved in and support them (by attending athletic events, concerts, plays etc), and most importantly to pray for their students.
If you are interested in getting involved, I would encourage you to talk to families who are paired up with a student, and see how they could use your support. If you want to get to know college students and get involved in their lives, then come check out Tapestry on Sundays at 5 pm. We are very excited about this new ministry and opportunity to serve our community!
Blessings & Love!
Last Sunday we had an incredible carnival! What a wonderful time of food, laughter, meeting new people, worshiping God, and just being silly 🙂 Although we won’t have a carnival EVERY week, we are planning some fun celebrations throughout the next few months. Keep checking back for more details 🙂
